Qualifications
  • Chartered Trade Mark Attorney
  • Professional Certificate in Trade Mark Practice, Nottingham Trent University
  • Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice, Queen Mary University of London
  • BA (Hons) Law and Business Studies, University of Warwick

I entered the trade mark profession after first working as a Legal Assistant in a law firm after university. I was drawn to trade marks due to their real-world application and the variety of work on offer.

As well as this, I enjoy working with clients closely to really get to know their business and better understand what they require from their trade mark protection. Managing portfolios in an effective and efficient manner and seeing how new brands progress is a very satisfying aspect of my work.

I also enjoy contentious work and in particular the problem-solving aspect of disputes, where it is important to put the client in the best position possible to either succeed in the proceedings or secure a favourable settlement through negotiations.

Recent experience

Acting for a major media group, assisting with clearance work and filing new applications for a new group-wide brand while continuing to manage its large and growing trade mark portfolio and watching service.

Acted for a manufacturer in their successful attempt to secure a colour trade mark registration by demonstrating through evidence that they had acquired distinctiveness.

Acting for a multinational plumbing manufacturer in the management of their large trade mark portfolio and disputes arising out of their watching service.
